Mission Statement

In keeping with the overall goal of "education for social change," the Institute of Diversity, Ethics, and Peace Studies will seek to prepare students to become global citizens, with the aim of protecting and understanding the deep diversity evident in today's world. The Institute will provide both traditional classroom education and experiential approaches.


The Institute will seek to provide educational excellence in a personal and professional environment by conducting research and teaching from a sound knowledge base; affirming diversity of ideas, values, persons; upholding the highest of ethical principles in professional conduct; and maintaining a partnership with institutions, communities, and business organizations within the region.
